Right, because the Jet Ski itself is so quiet, music might distract me from

Hypothetical question, Nobody: Your 600 pound PWC
and my 6,000 pound boat are on a collision course.
I'm the stand-on vessel and you're the give-way
vessel. I see you, but you don't see me. I sound
my horn. Would you rather be able to hear it, or
not?

Your blasting your music, and not paying attention to what's going on around
you. It's not the Noise of the Jetski, with you masking over it with
Music. It's the Singing along to the Tunes, Humming to yourself. There's
already too many Idiots out of PWC out there. I know someone who's Wife
was killed by his Grandson. They were both out on Ski's and the Grandson
Crashed into it's Grandmothers Jetski and Killed her. Noobie's not knowing
what they're doing, and riding near each other. A Boat Horn is another good
example of why a MP3 player is not a good Idea. It's a dumb move. Lots of
people get killed on PWC from DUMB moves.

Really if you need MUSIC on your jetski to enjoy yourself, your doing
something wrong.

Add your weight to that 400 and tell me how close
my 600 pound estimate is.

That's very good to hear, although, like the prior
response, is not an answer to my question. Here's
another hypothetical, then: Same two vessels are
on collision course, but this time you are the
stand-on vessel, and I'm in the give-way vessel.
I've got my stereo pumped up good and loud, and
don't see you. You sound an alert with your warning
device (horn, whistle, or whatever, that you, as
a law-abiding PWC pilot, are certain to have on your
PWC.) Would you rather that I hear it, or not?

I agree with you guys and this is how I've always felt when this issue
has frequently come up over the years. And I'm a big music lover,
music is a huge part of my life and I like to hear it at home, in the
car of course, etc., but when I'm out on the water that is a
completely different thing, a time when I do not want or need any
music blaring to entertain me, it wouldn't really seem fitting anyway.

Your 400 lbs toy can easily kill you! Do I have to mention how many times
someone just falls out of a boat and drowns. Fall out of a car and what
happens? Hit the ground. There's also too many people in Cars doing things
they shouldn't be and crashing and killing themselves and others. Be it the
Radio, the Cell Phone, GPS, Eating, Makeup, and the list goes on and on.
Adding water to the mix just makes it that much worse. There are already
enough PWC users/owners doing dumb things out there.

How many times has someone crashed and say they didn't see you? Ever been
riding a Motorcycle? That's kind of like a PWC. Small, Hard to see, and
other are just zoned out. I've had a few close calls myself from bad
drivers. You're always driving defensively. I think every single
Car/Truck out there can't see me and ride accordingly. Same when I'm on my
PWC. Stay away as best as I can from others, but that doesn't always work.
It only takes one time for something to go totally wrong.
