I keep hearing alot about pump wedges. Do you really feel a top speed
increase. Or is this just more jet ski owners thinking that there craft
is a little faster because they want it to be.

On the Polaris Virage hull, the pump wedge and ride plate do add a
couple MPH. Have no idea about any other model or make. What you are
doing is "triming" up the pump (much like trim systems do) to take more
hull out of the water which may gain top speed but may also affect
handling adversely.

It only works on the three seaters and only in combination with the OP
rideplate (although Hot Seat Performance came out with a rideplate which
is essentially the OP design).

Now on my SLXH, which has triple pipes and a stroker motor, I can't stand the
porpoising and took the wedge off altogether. GroupK recommends this on the
older two seater models. I tried the 6 and 4 degree wedge and went flush with
no wedge. Didn't try the two degree. Ocean Pro when I spoke to them said they
tested their O.P. plates with no wedge on the Polaris 2 seaters. So looks like
mixed results.
