My 98 Seadoo XP limited is having problems with its carburators. I
cannot move the throttle lever anymore.
So I took it to the dealer who told me that the carburators are beyond
repair and need to be replaced. I am looking at leat at a $2000 repair
bill.
Can this really be true? Is there no way to rebuilt the carburators?
He said they are wasted.
I am very reluctant to spend $2000 on a 5 year old jet ski. Isn't it a
bit early though for the carburators to go bad like this?
Has anybody an idea what I should do? Right now it looks like I am not
willing to spend this much money, which would mean that I have to
trash the jetski. This would really be a shame, since it still looks
like new.

You can buy by aftermarket carbs brand new with everything for less than a
$1000. You can call PWC junkyards and get used carbs for less than $400 I
would guess. Give M&M Marine a call 888-802-7828 info@mm-marine.com and
ask for mitchel he'll set you up if he has a set. I'm not sure if he'll
ship internationally, but I'm sure you can get a set and change them
yourself for way less than you're dealer. I'm sure others will chime in
that may have a set laying around...

You could give me $500 and I will take it off your hands. Save
$1500.00......

Scott Fraizer has a set for sale for about $200.00

Your dealership is crooked.

Bill...You are SO right. Some dealers are crooked and that is a shame. If
you find one that isn't then you better send him a CHristmas card.

The whole reason I learned to do my own wrenching.

Carbs aren't that hard. Go ahead and do it yourself. Good Luck.
