This is a story that is apearing in our local media today. It seems
that a pair of jetski thieves made the rounds Sunday night going up
and down our local waterways stealing unsecured PWC's right off the
dock's of the owners here in Bay area of Chattanooga, TN. What these
guys did was set up in an abandoned lakefront trailer and set out
stealing PWC's all night. They then stashed them all around Wolftever
Creek and hauled them out two at a time. I don't have all the details
yet, but various reports have stated that they actually got between 4
and 8 ski's hauled off before they were foiled. An early riser woke up
to find his ski missing at around 5:30 in the morning, and that's what
got the ball rolling. Reports started trickling in after that when
several other owners called their ski's in stolen. The sherrif's dept
sent some detectives out to investigate, and one noticed a truck and
trailer sitting at the abandoned trailer, and that was where it went
south for the duo. One was captured red-handed, and the other took off
towards the main channel on one of the stolen ski's and got away, for
now. Here are a couple of the media accounts below:
