what are my options for replacing the dess system on a 97 xp?
ill replace everything i have to ( cdi, trim,laynard ) ect

You'll have to use total loss ignition to eliminate the D.E.S.S. The trim can
be wired to run off the battery, but the drawback of this system ( besides the
expense) is that you will not have a charging system. That means your battery
will go dead nearly every time you go riding.

I can see wanting to improve the electrical for racing, but the 97XP doesn't
make a good race boat. If the electrical was fried or missing, maybe. I think
the only other reason for wanting to do this is to make a stolen seadoo
ridable. ??

the guy who owns the boat has had nothing but issues with the ign/trim

the trim caught fire
and i wouldnt trust any wire in the boat.
just looking at plan b
