Can a jetski be faster than light???

I wonder if that's possible, because my friend from Proxima
Centauri said so, but and don't believe him!

If you were on a very large lake moving at the speed of light and then you
went flatout in the same direction of travel on your tigershark then you
would still be travelling at the speed of light! According to the theory of
relativity.
