Hello,
I just changed my own impeller to save a lot of $$. Everything went
smoothly since I purchased the repair manual - execept there is one
item that I am unsure of since the manual does notxplai. The impeller
cover - the cone-shaped device that screws into the rear of the
impeller housing (and contains synthetic oil).......

I know the impeller cover houses the following parts:
- Pusher assembly
- Slider
- Spring

All the manual says is that the impeller cover is spring-loaded so in
order to screw the cover into the housing, you have to put pressure on
it while screwing in the three screws. But, it says nothing about how
the slider and spring are oriented INSIDE the cover. My assumption is
that the slider and the spring must put pressure on the pusher to
contact the impeller shaft to reduce unnecessary front to back motion,
but the orientation of these parts within is not obvious if you have
ever seen this. Simple logic tells me that for the spring to actually
put pressure on the pusher, it should be oriented behind. But, when I
went to reintall the cover, I noticed that the spring was atached to
the bottom of the slider which makes no sense since it seems to serve
no purpose..

Does anyone know what I am talking about?
