the trim motor is bad and hasnt worked in years

i cleaned all ground contacts ( in the box with the solenoid in it and back by
the batt )

it did blow 2 fuses at 1 point a 5 and a 7 amp ?

it does beep 2 times then re starts ( after failing )

im suspicious of the " dess" system

I have a 96 xp and had a similar problem. I went though the same thing,
getting carbs cleaned and even replaced the CDI box. Come to find out water
was getting inside the trim motor and shorting everything out. I disconnected
the VTS all together from the front electrical box and every where else I could
find and it ran fine and has ran fine ever since.
There is a rubber boot in the back of the ski where the trim arm comes out of
the ski. That is where the water is getting inside. One of the mechanics at
the local dealership told me that you would be surprised what a faultyVTS would
mess up. He was right.
