Confusing and Weird Problem:
1995 SeaDoo SP, bought 1 month ago…no problems until today. I have
put about 16 hours on it with no problem until it would not crank at
the end of the day last week. I trickled the battery for three days
and went out again today.
I had it out for about 2 hours and stopped to rest. It would not
crank after that….seemed like dead battery. I pulled the battery,
went to WalMart ( left ski and family playing in the water) The
battery tested dead. I put a new battery in the ski, and it cranked,
but would not start. It seemed not to have fuel or spark. I looked
for a wire I may have pulled, but could not find any. When I got
home, I tried to start it again. It would crank forever, but not
start. I pulled the plug wire and checked for spark with a screw
driver. It kicked right over and ran. I put the plug wire back on,
and it would not start again. Tried to check spark again…and it
started. This will work with both cylinders.
In short…..I put the caps on both plugs…it won't start. I pull either
wire and put a screw driver in and it will start….only if the screw
driver is not touching the plug…it has to arc to run. I recreated
this about 5 times each cylinder before going online.

Any ideas??? I hate to take this one to the shop.

Check your Kill Switch, 99% of the time it's those kill switches that go
bad.. I had Yamaha's that were doing almost the same thing. replaced the
kill switch and never again had a problem.
repair cost about $100 doing it yourself.

good luck
Mark
