everyone is talking about? Anything else this machine needs? Thanks

All Yamaha powervalve motors need the clips. It will probably also need
the pump seal kit.

Do you install the clips & pump AFTER the warranty has expired? Do they
void the extended warranty? Just bought an '03 xlt1200 that came with a
three year factory warranty at no charge.....

The clips are available at waveeater.com (I would also order the new PV
connectors - they eliminate the slop in the powervalve train and
actually improve throttle response a little after 100 hours on the
factory connectors). The pump plug kit is from rivayahama.com and also
get a tube of 3M 5100 (or 5200, whichever one is the fast cure) marine
sealant to reseal the entire pump and shoe area.

Don,
The pump plug kit does not void the warranty and neither "should" the
powervalve clips since they are correcting a long standing defect with
the engine that, if one fails, destroys much of the motor. I've got a
four year extended on my 02 GPR and have installed the clips - at worst,
if I need some engine work, I can always pull them off before I take it
in. Without them, you stand a good chance of dropping a PV pin and with
them, no chance at all.
