Yamaha Fuel Filter

Is there any reason a Purolator F20004 Fuel Filter can not or should not be
used in place of the identical looking Yamaha Fuel Filter costing 10 times
more? I could not "see" any difference? Does anyone else use the Purolator? Has
anyone had a problem with them? Thanks in advance for any input! Dave.

Paper element in the Purolator and flow rates. I know for a fact the
Purolator doesn't flow the proper amount for the GPR/XLT 1200 motors and
was ready to put one on the 760 Blaster II until I read the Riva group
and talked to our local Guru, Gary Harris. Convinced me. Riva does
sell their "own" brand which is identical to the Yamaha and has the same
type element and flow rates - saves you a few duckets ($14.95 each +
shipping) but you paid a lot more for your ski than that, didn't you.
