I'm getting ready to buy my very first PWC and I narrowed my choice to Honda
(mostly because
I ride Honda motorcycles for the very long time and I'm a big believer in
Honda quality and
reliability). My question is - should I get the regular or turbocharged one?
Turbo is only $1000
more, but I'm concerned about reliability.

TIA

Thanks. I'm leaning towards Turbo - I'll see what dealer will offer me for
my motorcycle (I brought it all the way from
California to North Carolina only to realize that there is no way I can ride
wearing full leathers in this climate ;-( ).

Is speed an issue for you?
The turbo performs remarkably well and much better than the non turbo. I think
the reliability difference would only be marginal.
I think Honda has done a good job so far of producing a product and standing
behind their product. They clearly have the brightest potential future (in the
long run sense) .
Enjoy your new PWC

BTW, I just bought the turbo-charged aquatrax - cannot wait until Saturday
now Wink

WAY TO GO. I'm from the bay area in CA. The only way I learned to cope with
Texas heat is to enjoy anything with water.

Joe,
Why would you leave the bay area for Texas?

Just make sure the dealer you are buying from will continue to be a
dealer based upon Honda's draconian demands.

Hmm. Well, for what it's worth, this is the thinking of my husband,
brother-in-law, and husband's best friend (all gear-heads):

Go for the non-turbo.

I've ridden the F-12, and liked it a lot - great lower-end pickup,
fairly nimble, not too dry-riding, plenty of HP for towing,
stable enough for novices and kids.

My BIL is now in the market, and ready to buy - the F-12. All
agree that the 4-stroke engine itself is complicated and cramped enough.
Adding a turbo into the mix doesn't really buy you much except
top-end speed. We're not speed demons, so that reason isn't enough
to add $1K onto the buy price, and the added unknown of the PWC turbo.

We currently have a Polaris, and are considering adding on an R-12.
Any idea if Honda will be offering a non-turbo 2 seater anytime soon?
