....everybody gets up early. So I get to the restaurant at 7 AM as
planned. Hmmm, Nobody here yet. Then I get a phone call from Bill and
his friend Kathy. They decided to take a pre-dawn tour of the downtown
Streets of San Francisco before taking in breakfast. Luckily, they
made it out with all their possessions. After confirming their GPS
location, I conservatively estimated 15 minutes to arrival. Within a
couple minutes, lp walks through the door. I inform him that BA is on
the way. Twenty minutes later, the waitress comes and asked if we were
waiting for BIll. Oops, passed the restaurant and took a tour of Ocean
Beach. Another 7 minutes and here they come--walking up the hill from
the Cliff House.

We (Bill, Kathy, lp, and myself) met at the crack of dawn for
breakfast on probably the coldest morning of the year. Stiff, cold
onshores and cloudy skies greeted our honored guests this morning. The
beach was not the place to be unless ice fishing is your fancy.

But the coffee was hot, the food was good, and the company was top
shelf.

It was a pleasure meeting you Bill and thanks for breakfast. I hope
next time we'll have some waves to share.

Dennis / LP

First of all, I want to thank you guys for allowing us to visit your
beach and sacred breakfast club - food was great - company even
better.

I usually don't make too many excuses about my lame behavior - BUT -
in defense of my driver, Kathy, I gotta offer up some sort of
explanation for our tardiness.

Kathy is a big shot forensic psychologist, contracted by the states of
CA and WA.

Normally, when ever, and where ever she travels, she is driven by
Sergio, chauffer and exercise boy - and even though she has visited
the Cliff House many times, she has never been at the wheel.

Kathy and I left her mansion in the hills of Piedmont at 5:30 AM [in
her cute little red Mercedes], and despite her best efforts to escape,
we ended-up exploring the entire length of SF's Mission Area.

[Apparently, when describing one's location, "right next to ..." means
something different to No Cals than it does to an orphan from Barrio
La Jolla]

When we finally escaped from the grip of the mean streets of SF, we
were focused - like lasers - on locating the Cliff House...

We found the Cliff House and decided it would be far too easy to
simply look right next to the Cliff House, so we headed south...

I noticed that we were getting dangerously close to Half Moon Bay and
even I, a stranger in a strange land, knew that we had gone a bit too
far south.

Luckily, Kathy swallowed her pride and called Louie's.

The waitress gave her - obviously - much better directions than Dennis
did - and we did make it back to Louie's in time for the lunch
special.

Thanks again Dennis and LP for your patience and compay.

I'm coming up again soon, with boards and a 20mm wetsuit, hood, gloves
and booties.

LOL. I guess directions are not my forte. In 1992 when I arrived in Sf
from NJ, I was trying to get to Miami...

here and your 100mil wetsuits should keep you nice and toasty. see you
on the next jaunt.

He got that look from surfing in his back yard.
