2 Yamaha on a trailer in good working condition

1990 lx
1993 vxr

I might have the years reversed. I could not find any specs on the Yamaha
site thus I do not even know the HP rating for either one. I was told by
seller that one is a 650CC adn teh other is a 750CC
both are 2 person.

1 units has oil injection the other unit must be premixed

Visual inspection by a me just showed that the units were in physical good
shape. Don't know about the motors. I would have them checked out before I
bought em....

If the 93 is a VXR Pro, then it is a 701, not a 750cc, otherwise both
are 650cc motors. Both are pretty tame skis, 35-38mph, not much in the
way of handling but as reliable as anyone has ever produced. As for
value, $2000.00 for the pair on a double trailer would be my top price,
assuming they are in excellent condition. The 650 motor was right
around 50hp, the 701 was 63HP. If it is a Pro, it is yellow/white with
a yellow seat, if not it is probably teal/white.

Tom, Pilot

Thanks for the info. They are asking more then what you mentioned. If I
buy a new trailer that would cost me just under a grand. I have been
thinking about the stx 12f but I would like a second ski just so that the
Miss's could have one for her own. Thus If I can pick them up at your
recommended price

I could sell the 1990 unit for what maybe 500 bucks and keep the trailer and
93 model costing me 1500.00 add a new ski to the trailer and at least we
would have a pair. I am happy to hear they were reliable models. last
thing that I need in my life now is another project..... I need to save my
presious time for FUN.

I'll think that I will make a offer and see what happens. I'll post and let
you know if it works out.

Thanks again.

Jim,

You must have a much more understanding wife than I do - I can just see
me saying "now honey, I've purchased the latest, fastest toy for myself,
not you go ride this POS Yamaha that rides like a sheet of plywood and
won't get out of its own way" - instant marital discord. Seriously,
although extremely reliable, both those skis are a rough ride in any
kind of chop (that had a very flat hull that is great for doing 360's,
not for cutting through the rough stuff). I've seen a couple of the
older Kawasaki 900 three seaters for sale around $3000 - it would be a
much better investment from a personal happiness standpoint, IMHO.

Amen!

I would only consider on of those if I were looking for something my kids
could play with and not get too injured !

they take 10 minutes to hook up, and even then you are going 30 mph. when
you go to turn, it feels like you are swinging a 30' barge around in front
of you.

About the only fun thing is you can do flat spins on them all day (even when
you didn't plan on doing one !)

If you get serious about them, DEFINATELY insist on a test ride before
sealing the deal.
