I ended up buying two new ones for use in salt water here where I live. I
have a history of making things last for years and I hope these two will be
no different. Not into racing or anything but plain fun in the sun. No
reverse thrust on the Sport model but I can add it for $600. I rarely need
reverse, and I hope I can teach my friends likewise. I liked the blue/white
color combination that the 06 Sport has.

I have a 2005 Yamaha VX110 Deluxe just hit 230 hours all salt water
riding without a problem. Just go by the maintenance manual and flush
after every use. If I'm using back to back days I may flush with just
water then the next day I'll flush with Saltaway and water. Always
flush if your in salt water.

Spray engine with either WD40 or CRC 656. Always check engine oil when
engine is hot, never over-fill.

I have the Deluxe and barely use reverse or the mirrors.

Enjoy, have fun.

There is salt moisture that gets on the engine. I mix a little Saltaway
and water, spray a fine mist on the engine, CRC 656 if it is going to
sit idle for a week. You can always wipe away the CRC 656 from the
engine if it starts to cake.

I almost have 10 hours on them now. Since they are new I am hesitant to
spray water directly on the engine, but I always do inside the hull. There
is rarely any saltwater in there or any salt spots anywhere. So I should
rinse everything with water? I also hate to spray CRC656 on the engine but
I know they say I should!
