I have a 2001 RXDI. I've always gone to the dealership and bought
their recommended synthetic oil. I only have like 60 hours on it and
the thing has always run flawlessly.

Anyway I ran out of oil (read warning light came on but there was
still plenty in the reservoir) and I went to the dealership and bought
a new gallon of yet a new XPS synthetic oil. This has got to be like
the 4th formula in as many years!

Anyway I was out riding and spent about 1/3 of a gas tank in Petosky,
Mi. and then went down to Houghton lake, Mi. I'm a rider that likes to
ride full throttle and usually maintain about 68 mph on my boat. Well
while riding on Houghton Lake I noticed a slight drop in speed and now
only seem to run about 64 mph.

I've had the impeller looked at and there are no sharp edges and
nothing that looks like anything was hit.

Long story short: (I know too late)
Would the injector oil have an effect on the overall top speed? My
power out of the hole seems fine it is just that top end seems off by
a few mph.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

What was the difference in water and weather conditions between the 68 mph
ride and the 64 mph ride?

The oil is not going to effect your speed. The biggest issue with oil and
Bomardier engines is the RAVE valve. SeaDoo specs an oil that leave fewer
deposits in the RAVE valve.
Two hours but what was the difference in air temps? Air temp changes the
density of the intake charge and makes a huge difference.
By the way, the speedo on your RXDI is generally referred to as a
"dreamometer". that is, if you think you're going as fast as that thing say,
you're dreaming....
Scrounge up a cheap GPS, they're very accurate and will tell you what's
really going on.
