Hey, believe it of not there's great surfing in Munich, all year round, free
and accessible by public transport. There's even as public parking lot next
to the site.

On my recent (7/06) Gentlemen's tour of Germany after a visit to the Haus
der Kunst Museum I discovered several German male and female surfers on the
perpetual 5' (1.50m) wave in the Eisbach river next to the museum. This is
an upwelling in front of a wehr and you can stay on it as long as you are
able to hold your balance. This amazing sight can be seen right from the
street bridge.

The current is swift and the water is cold, it's dangerous and 'verboten'.
I have several digital photos and video footage of this phenomenon, if any
mags or TV shows want to license them.
