July and August in Santa Cruz.
Camping with my kids.

After giving my 12 year old a week of 8 hour days just playing and
boogie boarding, and yes even rode the white water in for the first time
on my 15 year old Hank Warner 7'6", at San Diego beaches last summer, my
son wants me to make the 3 hour trip to Santa Cruz every week this
summer so he can spend 8 hours a day just playing and boogie boarding at
Santa Cruz beaches.

The problem is, the only beaches I remember from my youth (a thousand
years ago) are the lane, the point, and the hook (my god, they've got
stairs at the hook!).

What are some good Santa Cruz area beaches/breaks for summertime boogie
boarding for a 12 year old who isn't a great swimmer yet and just wants
to have a good time playing at the beach. He'll get his surf experience
in San Diego during our annual family vacation for fish tacos and Puerto
Nuevo lobster.

Thanks,

JS
