Buying a rod as a gift for my brother. He has a 8.5' 6 wt, but really
prefers smaller streams and fish. At this late stage it's probably a done
deal and I'm planning on getting him the Sage FLi 7.5' 4 wt. I have a 7.5'
4 wt (different brand) which is by far my favorite small stream rod. Only
difference is I'll get the 4 piece for him for easier hiking and travelling.
But I just thought I'd check at the last minute and see if there are any bad
experience anyone has with this rod.

well, just to confirm the fact that there's no accounting for taste, i
can't abide sage rods.

i would suggest you call waldo and see if he has any hardy or scott
equivalents.

Why Wayno (not arguing, just curious)?

I think it's a bit odd you with your hardy on the spring creeks of tosc
and me with my sage (bought for $70 as a blank from Patrick's many
years ago) on the Itchen.

oh, no problem. in fact, most folks think i'm weird on this
issue. the rods just have always felt lifeless in my hands.
something about the nature of my mechanicals, i'm sure.

Thanks, day, but, while I appreciate your sense of humour, I'm grateful
to Myron for telling me the true definition.
