Hi all:

We're planning a getaway soon, and are interested in the above
locales. We're interested in other riders' perspectives
on which is more worthwhile.

We need a ramp that's easy to launch from - our towing truck
is a 1966 Ford. Now 4WD for us. :^) We also would like something
that allows us to head out for the day, set up a day camp with a
couple of chairs and a cooler, and get away from everyone else.

Problem - we'll be doubled up on our SLH, since our friends are
out of town and won't be around to serve as beasts of burden
with their PWCs.

Recommendations?

Thanks.

Sandi

Don Pedro is bigger and has more to see.
New Melones is nce too. Neither are a bad bet. I drive over the top of Don
Pedro almost every week and the level looks high so it is a good time to be
there.

I agree with Scott. I frequent both lakes. At Pedro you can take a
nice ride up the river, near Moccasin point. More stuff to see. New
Melones is nice as well. More boarders and fisherman tend to be at
New Melones because there are no launch fees. Another plus for New
Melones is that you can take a short drive into Angels Camp for
supplies and/or a good meal. Glory Hole is where I typically stay.
Sounds funny, but we good into town for all our meals, with the
exception of lunch. After riding all day, the last thing I want to do
is cook in 100+ degree heat. Oh ya, the heat in that area can be
blazing at times.
