Thanks for the great time A3aan! I had a wait between flights in
Amsterdam, Ewoud and Adrian took care of me. Ewoud gave me perfect
directions to V.E. Amstel club, where I met Adrian. We went for a
row in singles down a narrow canal and out on to the Amstel River.
Afterward, we had a couple beers at the club bar.
On the Amstel, I waved to Adrian so he could get his training in on a
long stretch out of town, I turned around and rowed back and forth in
town, checking out the sights, the boats, the clubs and little
adjoining canals.

You Euros know how to row!!!! That was a great tasting beer, and fun
to meet Adrian.

Ewoud, thank you for the account and password at airport, came in
handy. I emailed photos of the club home. I'll put them up on my
website when I get home.

I'm in Geneva now, but all the swiss rowers are in Newport. I
emailed a woman who went to my college to see if I could get a row,
but she didn't offer much.

Mike

What happened to the Dutch 4-? It looked more like the steering standard at BUSA regatta rather than a world cup, and I suppose that it was fortunate that the Italians didn't object. I presume some sort of equipment failure?
