According to census data in the year 2000 there were 16,536 housing
unites in Apple Valley. This represents a 43.3% growth from 11,538 in
1990.

Of those housing units, 16,168 were located in either urbanized areas
or urban clusters, and 368 were located in what is classified as a
rural area.
